Today is Día de los Muertos, my favorite day ever!! Which you may not know due to the lack of posts around here... I'm crazy busy with work!! October and November are the busiest months for Día de los Muertos' artists and crafters as we get ready to participate in different events, I still have 3 more to go!!

Every year I make an altar de muertos and decorate my little home. This year, however, my almost 2 year old decided we wouldn't have any of it. I started taking out all my Día de los Muertos decorations and he went straight for them. I had to rescue a bunch of sugar skulls from being eaten! No matter where I tried to put the altar, he would find a way to get to it :( So instead, I prayed last night and lit a candle for all my loved ones. I still missed having my catrinas and colorful skulls out, oh well, there's always next year and hopefully Julian will understand better by then! I'm going to my local bakery to buy some pan de muerto later tho, it's so good with hot chocolate! yumm!

So the best I can do is give you a few links to help you celebrate Día de los Muertos!! Ready? Here we go!

1. Read all my Día de los Muertos' posts from last year here. I have tons of info and other cool things!
2. My friend Tracy made a beautiful altar for her dog, Ginger
3. This is a great book to teach kids about DDLM.
4. Leslie made Pan de Muerto!!! Read her recipe here.
5. Spanglishbaby has a tutorial on making paper flowers to decorate your altar.

And, if you're around Long Beach, CA. Come tomorrow to CSULB for a night full of Día de los Muertos fun!! There will be free food, entertainment, and vendors like Rosa Mexicano ;)

Feliz Día de los Muertos!!!

MJ
