5 Things Monday

Photo found here

Hello Everybody!

It’s about 6am here in So Cal and it seems like the rain has taken a break for a little while. I’ve been up for the last hour or so, (I don’t sleep much anymore), so what a better way to spend my time than writing today’s post: 5 things I’m obsessed with.

  1. Post-its. I don’t know if it’s the organizing freak in me (I love labeling stuff!) or just the fact that they’re so damn cute & very useful… but every time I see post its I HAVE TO BUY SOME! I have a box full of them, all different sizes, colors, shapes, and types. And I’ve been seriously considering getting a job at the Post-it company just so I could get some more! I know, it’s a problem…
  2. Blogging. There is nothing I enjoy more than spending most of my time browsing blogs! And finding a new great one just makes my day!
  3. Reality shows… specially the ones on Bravo, or those contest shows, or the celebrity ones. My bf hates them more than anything in the world, but I find the fact that I can peek into somebody else’s life fascinating!
  4. Bags/Purses. You can’t never have too many (even if I use the same ones all the time)… enough said.
  5. Facebook. Who isn’t?

What are your obsessions?

Inspiration Board: Julian's Wish List

Hello there,
Hope everybody had a great weekend! We're finally getting some rain here in So Cal and it feels good.... I LOVE RAIN!!
On other news... I'm still very pregnant... 39 weeks today to be exact. My friends are already making bets and no one believes I will make it to my due date (Jan. 24th), but we'll see.... Last doc's appointment I had to get my cervix massaged because the baby is not really dropping, (really painful experience, by the way, I was soar the next of the day),  and since I have a "flat" pelvis my doc does not want me to go overdue fearing the baby will get bigger and that would mean C-Section... so I might even be induced next week.... scary!
Anyway, it looks like the nesting thing is finally hitting me and things are slowly getting cleaned!

And back to today's post: I've been going "baby stuff" crazy, buying too many things for my little J... I'm sure it's a new mommy thing ;) But my bf S has already asked me very nicely to stop spending money on baby stuff "we don't need"...  But I can't help it! Everything is so adorable and I just picture my little one playing/wearing something and I HAVE TO GET IT!
Besides, you can't never have "too many things"... and today, I noticed we haven't really gotten him a lot of toys, and well, he's going to need some recreation time right? So here's my little one's wish list, and I'm sure mommy, grandma, aunties or even daddy will end up getting a thing or two for him ;)

Have a beautiful Monday!

Just a little update

I will probably be a little quiet this next week, bare with me!
I’m currently 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant and using all the time I have to prepare last minute details, which is hard since all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV or sleep…
I promise to post as much as I can from now until my little guy comes home!
Hope you all have a great weekend.

5 Things Monday

5 projects I want to finish this year

1. Spain Scrapbook. It’s been almost three years since I went to study abroad in Madrid. I have all my pictures printed out, all my scrapbooking materials ready… I just need to start the damn thing and actually do it!!!
2. Granny Square Afghan. I have about 30 squares done… need about 40 more… hopefully I can finish them in between diaper change!
3. Baby’s Cross Stitch Summer Afghan. This needs to get done before the summer!!!
4. Baby’s Crochet Blanket. We’ve been having pretty nice weather here in So. Ca., but the meteorologists are predicting lots of rain and cold weather in the next few months… and I really hope I can get this done by then!!
5. Journal. Every year I promise myself to keep a journal…. Haven’t been successful but I’m giving it another try this year!

What are the 5 top projects you’re working on this year?

5 Things Monday

I’ve decided to create some fun post themes for my “new” blog, and came up with this one! It’s something that I’ve been personally doing on my journal, an easy and fast way to write the things I’m loving, hating, or simply thinking about…. So the first “5 things” post is dedicated to: the 5 things I miss (from before I got pregnant). Our little J is coming in only 3 weeks!! That’s it! Don’t really know where the past 8 months went… seriously… do I sound like a bad mom if I say I’m not ready? All the baby stuff is still on bags in the corner of my room… haven’t gotten around to properly clean everything, all I want to do is sit down and watch TV all day… I’m hoping that I get to feel a bit energized and get everything done before little J gets here!! Although I have to say that I can’t wait to see my little baby’s face and hold him in my arms: D
Anyway, so back to today’s post: here are the 5 things I can’t wait to enjoy again ;)

1. Sushi!!! I went to get a veggie roll last week at my regular sushi place, and like always, the guy asked me: “How many weeks until you get to eat your salmon philly roll again?” I’ve counting down the days since I found out I was pregnant!

2. My old clothes! I’ve been able to wear my pre-pregnancy pants all these months thanks to the Belly Belt, and haven’t bought a single maternity clothing item! (I only bought some medium and large tops). But I can’t wait to wear my super skinny jeans again with my XS tees… one can only dream!

3. Painting my toenails!… or tie my shoes without feeling like I just worked out for an hour… or seeing my body below the belly…. Or… well, you get the point!

4. Sleeping on my tummy!

5. Dance! There is nothing I miss more than doing some taconeo on my red flamenco shoes.

What are 5 things you’re loving, hating, missing, obsessing over, or thinking about right now?

2010

Happy New Year!!
Can you believe its 2010 already? I still remember when we received the new millennium like it was yesterday. Time flies! I am so glad to start a new year though; 2009 was a really tough year for me, a really challenging and definitely a life changing one. Fortunately every January 1st offers new beginning, a chance to start with a blank page.
If there is something I learned this past year is that you can plan your life, think everything is going the way you want it to be and all of a sudden everything can change… and when life throws you lemons, well, you can either let them hit you or buy a bottle of tequila to go with them ;) Being the control freak I am, it was hard at first to accept all these changes that came into my life but I eventually learned that nothing else matters as long as YOU ARE HAPPY. So this year I decided that my only resolution is to be happy no matter what, welcome any changes with a big smile, and do it for me an nobody else.
Of course I have a long list of things I would like to accomplish this year like always, but I don’t feel like they have to be perfectly completed anymore… whatever happens, happens! All I know is that 2010 is going to be a great year, I can feel it!
Wishing all of you a great year!

Que viva la vida!

Changes/ Cambios

So, it’s the beginning of a new year! The perfect time to do make some changes around here. Instead of keeping a bilingual blog, I’ve decided that I will have two: one in English and one in Spanish.
You can find the Spanish blog “Viva la Vida (Versión ñ)” here!
I really encourage you to follow both blogs if you can, since not all of the posts are going to be the same!
And stay around…More awesome surprises are coming!!
